Title: Shift Your Purpose

Text: Ephesians 2:10

Written by: Brian Lambert

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10, ESV)

Thoughts

Understanding our purpose begins with recognizing that we were created intentionally by God. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are His workmanship, or we are His handiwork, uniquely crafted for good works that He has already prepared for us. This verse calls us to shift from a self-centered perspective on life to one aligned with God’s greater purpose. So often, we define success by the world’s standards, and are guilty of pursuing our own ambitions. However, real transformation occurs when we allow God to reveal His plans for us and align ourselves with His will. When we embrace the truth that we were created for His glory and to serve His kingdom, our lives gain deeper meaning, direction, and satisfaction.

During this time of prayer and fasting, seek God’s guidance for your purpose. Reflect on how He has gifted you, the passions He has placed in your heart, and the opportunities He has set before you. A shift in purpose requires a willingness to let go of our own agendas and surrender to the good works He has prepared for us.

Challenge

Take time today to reflect on your God-given purpose. Write down the ways God has gifted you and the passions He has placed in your heart. Consider one action step you can take today to begin aligning your daily life with His purpose.

Prayer

Father, thank You for creating me with purpose. Help me to shift my focus from my own desires to the good works You have prepared for me. Show me the ways I can serve You and others, and align my heart with Your will. Transform my life so that everything I do reflects Your glory. Give me the courage and faith to walk boldly in the purpose You’ve designed for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
