Title: Trusting for Resurrection
Text: John 11:40

“Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40)
Thoughts
Jesus is assuring Martha that if she has faith and will just believe, she will witness God’s power through the miracle of healing her brother Lazurus. This verse emphasizes the importance of trusting in God’s ability to act even in seemingly hopeless situations and experiencing God’s work in our lives. It’s a reminder that God is always working beneath the surface. We see Martha shift from her grieving passive belief that nothing can be done, placing limits on God’s power, to actively trusting in God’s promises and witnessing the impossible become possible.
I came to Clearpoint three years ago, a very broken person. I remember sitting in the sanctuary, eyes filled with tears, having very little hope that my circumstances could change and my life could be restored to something new. Like Martha, I felt it was too late, too much time had passed, and it seemed impossible for things to ever be different. I had been attending church for a while and even began working in the church office. As I joined a Life Group, found a mentor, and attended the equipping weekends, I began to realize that although I had believed in God my entire life, I had never really trusted God with my life. I settled my salvation and was baptized on Easter Sunday, “Resurrection Sunday” might I add.
Since that day, a significant shift has occurred, not only in my heart, but in my mindset. One, my heart that was dead was brought back to life just like Lazarus, but also like Martha, I shifted from a mindset of thinking it was too late, my circumstances were hopeless to seeing God’s power of breaking strongholds that had kept me in bondage for years, restoring broken relationship s, showering me with a community that loves me, and now opening doors of opportunity to walk in the purpose He planned for me. This year will be the beginning of sharing my testimony with others like me, how they too can have the hope I found in Jesus.
Challenge:
I challenge you - Don't give up! Place your hope and trust in Christ who is working on your behalf, even if you don’t see it. God sees you. He hears your prayers, and He loves you. He has a plan, and in His timing will make it known.
Prayer
Thank you, Jesus, for hearing our cries, seeing our needs, and intervening in our situations with your perfect timing and grace. We are humbled by your constant presence and unwavering work on our behalf even when we can’t see it. Thank you for your reassurance that you are the same God today as you were back then.
