DAY 6 - IDENTITY: YOU ARE FORGIVEN

Updated: Jan 16, 2020

There are two elements that are critical to your identity in Christ. These two essentials are foundational to your faith, growth, and spiritual strength and for charting the course of your life in the future (I John 2):

  1. You have a Father who loves you...you are chosen, accepted adopted into the family of God for a Kingdom purpose

  2. Your sins are forgiven!

These are rock-solid truths that every believer must stand on, because, we have an adversary, the devil, who is working diligently to persuade us that God is not good and that we are not forgiveable! And if he can convince you of those two things, we will always be in crisis - Identity Crisis. Satan wants to convince us that we are not loved, adopted, accepted or redeemed by God because of sins we’ve committed in the past or because of sinful habits and cycles we have yet to break! He would love to keep you trapped in sin, guilit and shame.

But, while the enemy wants to steal your identity, God wants to secure and solidify it!

Read and memorize Ephesians 1:7: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." (NKJV)

You are redeemed, by the blood of Christ. Christ paid for your sins on the cross with his life’s blood to make forgiveness available to all who will receive it! He gave his life so you could return to the family of God in right standing as a son, a child in the household of God!

The power of forgiveness and freedom is in the blood of Christ, the Lamb of God!

Consider these:

I John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV)

Revelatioin 12:11: they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (NKJV)
