Shift Your Confidence

Brian Lambert

Fasting Devotional – Day Twelve

Title:  Shift Your Confidence

Text:  Philippians 1:6

Written by:  Brian Lambert

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6, ESV)

Thoughts

True confidence doesn’t come from our abilities or circumstances; it comes from trusting in God’s faithfulness. In Philippians 1:6, Paul encourages believers with the assurance that God, who started a good work in their lives, will bring it to completion. This promise shifts our confidence from ourselves to God, reminding us that He is the one who transforms and perfects us.

Many of us wrestle with self-doubt, fear of failure, or uncertainty about the future. These feelings can paralyze us and hinder our alignment with God’s purposes. But when we trust in God’s ability to finish what He started, we find the strength and courage to press forward, even when the path feels uncertain.

As you journey through this time of prayer and fasting, consider the areas where you’ve felt inadequate or uncertain. Remember that transformation is a process, and God is faithfully working in you. This shift in confidence allows you to embrace His plans with boldness, knowing He will equip and sustain you.

Challenge

Reflect on an area of your life where you’ve been doubting your ability to succeed or move forward. Write down Philippians 1:6 and declare it over that area daily. Choose one step of faith you can take today, trusting that God will provide what you need to accomplish His work in and through you.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your promise to complete the good work You’ve started in me. Help me to shift my confidence from myself to You, trusting in Your faithfulness and power. When I feel inadequate or unsure, remind me that You are working in me and through me for Your glory. Align my heart with Your purpose, and transform my doubts into bold faith. I trust You to finish the work You’ve begun. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
